Care-a-Lots

This women's ministry group has been functioning for over 42 years.  It has flown under many names such as LIFT, Secret Sisters, Women's Ministries.  In the early 1990s, the group decided to hold a contest for a "new" name.  The name "Care-a-Lots" was suggested by Dianna Curl and was selected. Until two years ago, each Care-a-Lot member had a secret sister and gave small gifts at the monthly meeting and was finally revealed at the December meeting.  The main purpose of this activity was to reach out and "connect" with one another.

 

 

One responsibility of the Care-a-Lot's group is to take care of the church kitchen. Over the years, appliances and supplies have been purchased for the kitchen.  The group also hosts the "showers" and the funeral dinners.  When the church could not afford a janitor, the ladies of Care-a-Lots cleaned the church on a rotation schedule.  One of the favorite ministries of the Care-a-Lot group is the outreach to the Sr. Adults and shut-ins.  More recently, the school aged child has been added to that outreach ministry.
